The Lottery Ticket Ass #2: three possible questions

ASS #1: 100 Billion Dollars!
Mr. Lobb, you should give me the 100 billion dollars because I would use it in positive ways. I would use the money to better my future, and only use the money in positive ways. this money would open many doors of opportunity for me and my family, also my future could be much brighter.
First thing I would do with most of the money is invest! Putting the money into a saving account will allow me to make even more money on the large amount of money I already had. This money would be money I could use in the future when I plan to buy a house or put my kids into university or collage, or taxes, bills, insurance, and other living costs.
The second thing I would do with the money is put myself through school, and help my dad out with this business he is trying to start called marketing on a box. With the rest of the money I would help my parents pay off any bills. Oh and I buy my self a car. Not a really expensive one just escalade. That’s the big thing I would buy for myself with the 100 billion dollars.
To get this opportunity of not having to worry about money is something every one deals with, but that can not always be the case, but you should give me the money because I would put it to good use. To help all the people around me or people, and give my life and others more opportunity.

A) Short Answers Questions (3-5marks)
1. Q - Explain what the inverted pyramid is, and how it is used.
A - The inverted pyramid is a method news papers use for writing a news article. The beginning has all the information, like who, what, where, when, why, and how. The first sentence is always the most important, because people can stop reading at anytime and you need to capture there attention eminently. The second part is the body it contains other information that is less important, in this part would be quotes. The last part is the end, the end is the closing and the concluding sentence.
2. Q - What is yellow journalism?
A - Yellow journalism is when a writer makes a story more interesting and intriguing to read by lying about the truth of the story. By Fabricating what has really happened. Tabloides are the worst for this and magazines such as People, and Us.
3. Q - What was the Cakewalk and what did it mean?
A - The cakewalk was made up by black people. The dance was making fun of rich white people, that the black people worked for. Black people would go to the congo square on sundays and white people would watch them, so the black people decided to entertain them.
4. Q - Where did pop music come from?
A - Pop music came from disco, and as soon pop music became big, cool people hated it they liked pop music.
5. Q - Where did Jazz come from?
A - Jazz music came from New Orleans, it is polyrhythmic and has a train shuffle sound. Black people jazz music was more interesting and had a “spin” on everything. Jelly Roll Martin called him self the inventor on jazz, he played for white people and would skipp school to play in a high class brothel.
6. Q - Who was a big artist that motown records signed?
A - Motown was the first record company that first signed Michael Jackson.

1. Q - Explain what Motown Records is and there history.
A - Motown Record company is run by black people and are selling records to white people, AND black audiences. Berry Gordie Jr. Had a genius idea to take young talented kids form the streets and train them and make lots of money off of them. These kids were trained to sing, dress, be polite, act, dance, and do what they were told. Berry had a band that did all their albums and he had professional writers who wrote most of Motown’s songs, the kids were just performers.
Motown was a complete business, berry was a business man and wanted to make money. He also would make black music with white kids so white people would think it was safe and nice. A big group Berry made was the Jackson Five. Everything about Jackson Five was designed and that made black people and “cool” people a little less interested. Black folks were into soul music.
2. Q - Why did every girl in around the world fall in love with The Beatles? How to the band come to be so big?
A - John Lennon and Paul McCartney were a couple of school kids in England that got together and would play Chuck Berry music. They sounded good and played live a lot, soon they added two other guys, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The band tryed to get a label deal, but at this time they kinda sucked. Then a guy by the name of George Martin challenged them to write a hit and they got together and wrote a song that changed their lives. The song was I Want to Hand Your Hand, it became a smash hit. The Beatles get massive success, because they are charming and charismatic, people liked them without knowing why, they had some kind of X factor. Girls love nice harmonies and melodies, just like all they songs they were putting out. With a fast back beat and the simple and repetitiveness, there songs could be danced to. The beatles made a new way of performing and singing and playing. After the Beatles were big they became even bigger because they were not happy with their live shows, so they went back to the recording studio and started experimenting. They wrote their best songs then and changed music and influenced everyone.

A - A directors job is to hire actors, particularly a STAR. They break down the script into a series of shots and sequences that tell the story. He comes up with a “look” or a visual style the movie will have, some directors have more visual style than others. Some directors with a strong visual style are Tim Burton, James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, and Michael Bay. Some directors who have a real strap on the movie and have similarities in all their movies are called Auteurs. The most important person to come on the early stages of development is the star. The star on set get to have some say, in what they wear or how they look, but if your just an actor the director tells you what to do. The director is responsible for getting the other crew members to create a certain look that shows the image that best tells the story.

A - Soft news means it is a type of news that is less important at the time, so it could come out when ever and it would still matter. An example of soft news is cooking tips. Hard news is news that the sooner you can get it out there the better, because this type of news is important. It may of just happened and everyone wants the story. An example of hard news would be 911. A bully puplit is someone with a lot of power and does not use it is the right ways. They use it to bully people, and example of a bully puplit is Hitler.
5. Q - Does media sometimes go to far? State you opinion.
A - Yes I think media goes to far. Media make up a big part of our lives even if we don’t realize it, and most of the time we believe the things told in media. It makes up lies and can really hurt someone, and their reputation, and their relationships with family and friends. Media puts thing is people minds, an example of this could be global warming. Not a lot of the famous people choose to the start, but media makes them. Yes stars can choose their own career but they don’t choose to have so much media attention.
C) An Opinion Piece (20 marks)
Q - Explain what manipulation means, give examples of it used in - every day life, media, and TV.
A - Manipulation is a behaviour a person may use in order to get their way. They may say certain things or behave in a certain way as to make someone give them what they want. It is when someone tries to influence or control another for their own purposes. They do and say whatever they need to get what they want. Manipulation is used every day and you might not notice, and you my do it and not notice.

the target audience is teen girls because teen girls can relate to this situations and go through some of the situations Brittany goes through.
