I’ve looked: the morning world was green;

Bright roofs and towers of town I’ve seen;

I’ve looked: and my soul yet longs for light.



I’ve thought: but in my sense survives

Only the impulse of those lives

That were my making. Hear me say

‘I’ve thought!’—and darkness hides my day.

How I Am Rich

Instructions: Write a one page, 500 word, three paragraph personal essay explaining to me how YOU are "rich" in some ways similar to Aline, without needing that one hundred billion dollars I was planning to give you some weeks back.

          I am rich, in many ways. The way I look and dress or the things I have may tell you different, but you have to think what kind of rich. I am rich not with money but with love, happiness, opportunities, food and shelter. The kind of rich I treasure in my life is the kind that gives your heart a warm feeling. Peoples out look on rich may be money or fame, but rich is having great worth or value.

          I am rich with love in my life, and many people in this world sadly, are not. I was born into this world with a family loving me, and ever since love has brought me to where I am. Friends have always been there for me as well, loving me no matter what. I feel lucky to be loved, and that makes me feel rich to have something that special in my life. Love can bring a person many amazing deep feelings. That is why I consider myself rich with love.

           I am rich with happiness because I have so many things in my life that others might not have because of the area I was born in. My happiness comes for a lot of the opportunity that I have in the area I was born into, such as sports teams, movies, games, the beach, my Seadoo; all the nice things I have. I feel lucky to be so happy. Some people are not happy and cant get away from anger or fear. For instance people who live in poverty. For me to be around positivity and happiness I am lucky. That is why I consider my self rich with happiness.

          I am rich with shelter, healthy food and fresh water. I am lucky to have these essentials to live right in front of me. In poor countries these thing are hard for them to get. I am rich with food, because I have so much of it that I have more than I need. Same with water I have a amazing supply to fresh drinking water at just about any time. Shelter is so important and I a blessed to live in a area where we have houses and we can afford them. That is why I consider myself rich with food, shelter and water.


           Those are the reasons I am so rich in my life. I don’t think people who live in poverty dream of being rich and famous they dream of having food for tomorrow and healthy water to drink, and a safe place to be at night. The word rich will have a different meaning depending on the person. I feel as though if something is rare and I have it in my life, I am lucky and very special to have it. To me that considers me rich!

ASS #1: 100 Billion Dollars!

         Mr. Lobb, you should give me the 100 billion dollars because I would use it in positive ways. I would use the money to better my future, and only use the money in positive ways. this money would open many doors of opportunity for me and my family, also my future could be much brighter.


        First thing I would do with most of the money is invest! Putting the money into a saving account will allow me to make even more money on the large amount of money I already had. This money would be money I could use in the future when I plan to buy a house or put my kids into university or collage, or taxes, bills, insurance, and other living costs.

        The second thing I would do with the money is put myself through school, and help my dad out with this business he is trying to start called marketing on a box. With the rest of the money I would help my parents pay off any bills. Oh and I buy my self a car. Not a really expensive one just escalade. That’s the big thing I would buy for myself with the 100 billion dollars.

        To get this opportunity of not having to worry about money is something every one deals with, but that can not always be the case, but you should give me the money because I would put it to good use. To help all the people around me or people, and give my life and others more opportunity.
